Building hope, changing lives

Women Build - Habitat for Humanity of Gallatin Valley

Women of Gallatin Valley Pull together for Major Fund Raiser

Women of Gallatin Valley once again put their energies into building and fund raising for a home for HFHGV. Each year the women get together to not only help build a Habitat House for a qualified family, they get their friends, neighbors and community involved by getting sponsors to fund their time at the Habitat job site.

Women Build is set for May 10th, 12th, & 13th, 2017. We have the opportunity to, once again, receive the Lowe’s grant of $5,000 to help build our Partner Family home that we will be working on! In order to receive this grant we need over 50 registered women and at least 5 “Lowes Heros” at this fundraiser! So grab a friend or two and get registered! It’s going to be an event you’ll never forget!

Were are currently in the process of setting up “How To” Clinics for power tools and framing. This is a great way to get comfortable with the things you would be working with at Women Build and it will give you a broader skill set for your own DIYs at home! More information on the clinics to come.

What are ways to get involved with the Women Build program?

Three women at Habitat for Humanity's Women Build event

You can get involved with Women Build and never enter a construction site. Volunteers are needed to help raise funds and awareness to support building the home. Organizing and supporting a fundraising event is a great way to show your Women Build support. Examples of advocacy participation include: fundraising initiatives, program outreach support, building partnerships and personal campaigns.

Special Events

Special events are often the biggest fundraisers and community outreach projects. Volunteers are needed to coordinate and support the success of special events for Women Build. Examples of special event participation include: organizing/hosting an event, invitation support, donations of food/materials, event promotions and sharing your talents (music, art, etc.)

If you don't have any construction skills, don't worry! Many women come to Women Build sites with no construction skills and make a great impact. Training and tools are provided. Examples of advocacy participation include: coordinating meals for build site, construction, painting, landscaping, donating materials, share your talents (photography, etc).

Donor Support

In addition to fundraising events, the Women Build Program relies on the support of the community through business and individual sponsorships to reach our goals.
