Jean has Rett Syndrome which is a genetic condition with no cure. She’s 14 and weighs 60 pounds. Her mother can no longer carry her up and down the stairs to her bedroom. Only her father can get her up the steep and narrow stairs to her room, and he is in his seventies.
There’s no place for a bedroom on the ground floor of the house. And it’s almost impossible to bathe her in the small bathtub upstairs. She needs a handicapped bathing facility as well as a bedroom on the ground floor.
We’ve got to do something to help them. They can’t afford the renovation necessary to provide for Jean’s basic needs as she grows. Right now, we’re praying for $4 – $6,000 for the first stage of construction to build an addition on the ground floor to best care for Jean.
Will you consider a tax-deductible gift of _____ to help them? (Fill in the blank according to their capacity, $100, $500, $1000…)
A donor has pledged to match dollar for dollar all gifts received for Jean by July 31, up to $1500. If you can give a gift now, it will be doubled.Make the check out to Habitat for Humanity Gallatin Valley and put “Jean’s Room” in the memo line. You will receive a receipt from HHGV that you can use for tax purposes.
