Our work is a labor of love…
Habitat for Humanity is a dynamic partnership that draws families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing. These homes provide adequate living space, economic feasibility, shelter, security, privacy, and community accessibility.
Habitat for Humanity is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest 500 hours of their own labor on Habitat projects.
It is Habitat for Humanity’s policy that low-income families not be burdened with paying interest, so the homes are sold at cost with zero-interest 30 year mortgages.
Each project strives to transcend the boundaries of culture, status, religion, and race, through a shared common vision. Habitat has on open-door policy: all who desire to be a part of this work are welcome. By working together as partners, HfHGV gives people of all religions the opportunity to put their faith into action.
