Habitat for Humanity of Gallatin Valley held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet this past Saturday, January 21st, at the Holiday Inn of Bozeman. The banquet provided an opportunity for committed volunteers and loyal supporting businesses to be recognized for the time and effort they donate throughout the year to build homes for our deserving neighbors in Gallatin and Park counties. During the banquet, over 50 dedicated volunteers and businesses were honored with certificates, gifts, and plaques of appreciation. The event also serves as a fundraising opportunity for HfHGV, with the proceeds of silent auction baskets and raffles containing prizes donated by many great businesses throughout the Gallatin Valley going to directly support the organization’s essential programs. During the banquet, Habitat’s recently constructed home in West Yellowstone was dedicated to Maria Salinas and her family. Maria ceremoniously received the keys to her new home, beautiful quilts from Gallatin Valley Quilt Guild, and was able to thank many of the volunteers who had worked on her home directly. HfHGV’s annual Volunteer Banquet is a time for reinforcing community bonds and recognizing the work that can be accomplished when we all work together. We hope you will get involved with HfHGV in 2017 and plan to attend the next volunteer banquet early 2018. Thanks to everyone for your support!
